Teaching
I started teaching high school in 1972, at the age of twenty. Since then, I have taught every age and ability, from kindergarten to adult, online and face-to-face, in urban and rural settings, in Alberta, BC, China and Africa. Indigenous learners, ESL speakers, gifted learners, learners with special needs … all are uniquely talented and have something to offer our world. I facilitate professional development workshops for teachers and mid-career professionals. See my CV for details of my experience and credentials.
For Camosun College, I helped develop the Leadership Certificate Program in 1995. I developed and now facilitate Workplace Communication Skills and Strength Through Diversity. For the School of Business, I taught Introduction to Management.
As Associate Faculty for Royal Roads University, I teach credit and non-credit courses. These include: leadership workshops, Educational Leadership, Global Studies, Environmental Justice, the Business of Tourism, Strategic Planning for Hotel Management, and other courses as needed. See my CV for a list of courses.
For the University of Victoria, I designed and now instruct EDCA401, Instructional Design for the CACE program. I also taught ESL for UVIC when the program first began in 1986.
